General Data Protection Regulation – Protecting You and Your Privacy

This is an important message from the Change Leaders:  New laws, acting in the interest of the individual, require organisations to be more transparent about how they process your data. 

Who we are

tCL’s mission is to help alumni of ‘Consulting and Coaching for Change’ in their post master’s degree learning journey. As such we aspire to be a community of practice and alumni association which helps members network and receive relevant knowledge form activities such as webinars, conferences, and publications.

We take your privacy very seriously and in order for us to keep you informed about relevant events and activities, we need to hold some relevant information about you.  We will not hold your data for any other purpose than engaging you with regard to further learning opportunities.

Why we collect personal data

tCL acquire a small amount of personal data in order to support your post earning journey. This data is used to invite you to our alumni and community of practice events, and to verify that you are a graduate of the ‘Consulting and Coaching for Change’ master’s degree. This both enables us to engage with you and give you access to the various events and activities which are primarily member specific.

What personal data we collect

Members & Alumni : Typically, we collect your name, contact details for email and mobile, cohort and location. In addition, members can update their profile should they desire with a brief BIO, skills and experiences, and professional interests.

When members leave comments on the site’s discussion forum, the content shown in the comment and the identity of the contributor is displayed unaltered and never extracted for analysis or other purposes.

Public : As public can only subscribe to webinars, we only capture basic registration information such as name and email as part of a financial or subscription transaction. This ‘order’ data is retained only for our accounting need, and you will not have a profile created on our platform

Payments and financial information

tCL do not acquire or retain any financial or payment information within the Change Leaders. This data is contained within our payment gateways such as PayPal or in your online banking application if you choose to pay using a direct money transfer.

Comments in discussion forum

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

Who has access to your personal data

Data is accessible only by a small number of people on the tCL Board of Directors, and this is on a needs only basis. It is never shared with third parties. Key usages are to organise logistics for events, confirm payments and resolve any associated issues.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. For alumni that register for tCL membership, we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile and again this data is stored indefinitely. All members can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

Your rights

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

You do have the right to disagree and if you don’t wish to engage with us we will, of course, permanently delete your data upon request. You can request to see data we store for you at any time
